I am a self taught artist, wife, and mother of five who has honed my skills slowly but surely while living everyday life in mid-Michigan. Like most born creatives, I have explored many avenues and mediums (and will continue to) and fell into event painting almost as much out of necessity as anything else.
I need to create and have a heart to bring joy to others through my gift.
Pre-Motherhood I was able to move about freely to pursue artistic opportunities which included anything from designing logos and signage, commissioned works and portraits, murals, live worship paintings for churches and even a collection of ACEO (art cards) that was quite successful on Ebay. Post-motherhood, I realized I needed to focus my time and be more creative in my endeavors and stumbled across live event painting. That was over ten years ago, and I couldn't be happier that my path was narrowed into something that allows me to paint while being a part of a very momentous occasion in the lives of others and also continuing to be present in my childrens' lives while they are young.
*Note=Speaking of young children I am in a season of motherhood where I am tending to 5 school aged children. What this means is that while I try my best, paperwork and other business activities and communication are slow moving because my weekday life is fast moving. Please bear with me during this time.*
In the future I suspect I will have more time/freedom to work on some gallery exhibits and hope to open a formal studio (or even maintain a proper web page/blog), but for now this is where I am, and I know it is exactly where I belong.
Thanks for reading!
