Hello!
I really LOVE attending weddings! I always have. I adore the sights, the sounds, the feeling the anticipation in the air (shall I mention food? I'll wait on that) and everyone's happy laughter and smiling faces being dabbed with tissues as a couple officially vows to join their paths in life and carry on together as one. Whether that moment has been planned for months or years, has 40 or 400 guests, humble or high-end, it is a moment that deserves to be captured on a canvas to live on the wall and passed down generations as a reminder of the first day of the rest of a couples' life. It just so happens I can do that, and would love to for you.
You're probably wondering exactly what it is I do as a live event artist. Maybe you caught wind of a wedding painter at a wedding online, from a friend, or perhaps a previous client of mine and are a little perplexed by (and in love with) the idea! Like any other branch of art, live event painters all have their own unique style; in brushstrokes and business so I cannot speak for all live event artists, but I can tell you how I like to handle both.
After the initial consultation/booking arrangements are complete and I have the information I need for the event I arrive early to the chosen venue and begin to paint the basic shapes of the room. I stay painting throughout the duration of the event and finish it up by the end. I will leave the painting behind with the newlyweds to take home with them at the end of the night. Since I use fast drying acrylic paints the painting is dry and won't be bothered while on display. By request, I can take the painting home and touch it up and add some pretty extensive details but to date everyone has been more than excited to keep the process to a one night service. There is a little bit more involved in the actual planning, and a lot of room for creative ideas but my ultimate goal is not to create a work of art; it is simply to copy the work of art your wedding already is! From planners, to florists, to caterers, photographers and videographers, to the dress that has been agonized over for who knows how long-the work of art has been done. I am simply a visual scribe.
Feel free to click around and if you like what you see, be sure to take advantage of the contact form!
Blessings,
Trisha Strickland
